So your best friend is getting married, and she has asked you to be her maid or matron of honor, and that means that you are the one who will put together the famous bachelorette party!
Maybe you’ve never planned a bachelorette party before, and you have no idea how to start.
Never fear. Planning a bachelorette party isn’t as hard as it might seem.
In fact, it can be a fun, exciting experience for both you and the guests — as long as you keep a few things in mind.
Here are some tips for planning a bachelorette party…
1. Plan something that is in keeping with the bride’s personality.
One of the worst things you can do when planning a bachelorette party is to plan a night out at the bar with risque games, if your bride doesn’t even drink and she doesn’t enjoy the night scene.
2. Plan activities for all attendees to enjoy.
If younger members of the bride’s family are going to be present, be sure and include activities that they can understand and participate in as well. Also, you will need to nix any ideas of having a male stripper if there are girls under the age of 18 participating.
3. Consider a scavenger hunt for your main activity.
The nice thing about a scavenger hunt is that it can be tailored to being family-friendly if need be. Or, the scavenger hunt can be more risque if that is something the bride and guests will be comfortable with.
4. Have a spa weekend.
This is a really nice idea — especially if you have younger family members participating. You can spend time in the spa getting facials, massages or whatever. Then, in the evening, you all hang out in a motel room watching movies and eating popcorn. This trip can be a true bonding experience for you all.
5. Have a movie night.
While we’re talking about movies, if you never get to watch your favorite chick flicks when the guys are around, why not make your bachelorette party a movie marathon night of your favorite flicks? Each gal can bring a goodie or drink, and you can all gather around the TV in your jammies while you snack and watch movies that you enjoy. You can even make it an all-nighter if you want to. Again, a great way to bond with the bride, her family, and your mutual girlfriends.
6. Consider having a paranormal evening.
Now, you can do this one a number of ways. You can rent videos that have paranormal themes and have a paranormal movie night. Or, you could hire a psychic and/or tarot card reader to come in and do readings for the evening. You might also consider taking a tour of haunted houses in your town as well. Any of these things would qualify as a fun paranormal evening.
These are just a few of the great ideas you can try when planning your next bachelorette party. With a little imagination, now that you’ve got something to start with, I’ll bet you can come up with even more fun ideas!
